New Project Cleanup Scheduled for April 17,2021

Hello neighbors,

You are invited to come participate in a special neighborhood cleanup project hosted by The Belvedere Civic Club and several other orgs. This project is being held in celebration of Earth Day. (To learn more, click here https://www.earthday.org/ )

Volunteers are meeting on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 9 a.m. at the derelict vacant lot at 1225 Columbia Dr. This is the lot behind the old Wells Fargo Bank at 1235 Columbia Dr. We should be done with the cleanup by 11 a.m.

In addition to the celebration of Earth Day, we are holding this special cleanup project to introduce the community to the new users of this DeKalb County owned land. DeKalb County is repurposing this land to provide a location for: 1) CHaRM (Center for Hard to Recycle Materials) and 2) an urban agriculture center. If you are not familiar with CHaRM, then please go to their website at https://livethrive.org/charm/ to learn the services that they provide. The urban agriculture center is proposed to grow fresh produce on this land and to sell the produce in our community. Agnes Scott College will be involved in this project.

Please join us to remove litter and debris from this vacant lot and to welcome our new neighbors to the community.
