The Belvedere Civic Club invites all of Belvedere Park to attend a very important meeting this upcoming Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
As you may be aware, early in the morning of June 23rd there was a mass shooting at the corner of Rupert Rd and Memorial Dr in the parking lot of Chico's Market. Gunfire could be heard beginning around 3:30 a.m. This appears to have been a violent confrontation which left three people shot.
The Belvedere Civic Club will host two of our governmental officials, Police Chief Mirtha Ramos and Super District 7 Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson, to meet virtually with our community and address our concerns and questions about both this specific event and the larger issue of ongoing, persistent crime at that location.
The meeting will take place over Zoom and can be reached through your computer or smart phone as well as by phone call for audio only.
We want to give these officials an opportunity to adequately prepare for this community meeting, so if you have specific questions please send them to BelvedereCivicClubMail@gmail.com by July 7th, and we will forward them to the officials.
